If you’re serious about crypto, you need to remove your crypto from an exchange and store your crypto assets offline where you’ll have access to your private keys. One of the most popular and secure ways to do this is by using a hardware wallet. With Trezor wallet being one of the most popular devices around. However, up until now one of the downfalls with Trezor was managing your device.
However, Trezor has now released their Trezor Suite. Although only in public beta at the time of this writing, users of Trezor hardware devices can now download and test the desktop app. The new Trezor Suite makes using your wallet even safer, contains more advanced features and is more user-friendly. Enabling anyone at any level to take control of their coins.
What is Trezor Suite?
Trezor Suite is a new workspace where you can manage your hardware wallet and portfolio at once. The suite is available as both a desktop standalone program and a browser app and has been designed to make it easier for Trezor users to use their devices to their full potential. Plus it now has enhanced security and privacy with Tor integration.
Just be aware that this version of Trezor Suite is still in beta and bugs are to be expected but don’t worry this won’t affect your crypto. The public beta is expected to run until January 2021, when a new version of the desktop wallet will be available for download, and Trezor Wallet will no longer be available.
Trezor and Tor Integration
Tor has now been integrated with Trezor Suite. By activating Tor, you can benefit from an anonymized global network that will obscure your connection by relaying it through servers distributed around the world. This is great for those who are concerned about sharing identifying data with a third-party service or anyone who might be observing their communications.
Simply put when Tor is “On” your data is being encrypted and your IP address is masked. Just be aware, because your connection is being routed around several connections along with encryption and decryption you may find that it isn’t as fast as usual.
Also when you have Tor enabled, the offers shown when buying crypto within the Trezor Suite may not show the correct location. If you want to complete a purchase, you might need to manually set the exit relay to one located in your own country.
Trezor Suite Download
To download the Trezor Suite, simply head across to their Trezor Suite landing page. where you’ll find downloads available for Mac, Windows 8+ and Linux. There is also a Web version of Suite which works not only with Windows, macOS, and Linux (through Chrome and Firefox) but also with Android and Chrome (through Chrome).
The older (browser-based) Trezor Wallet, will continue to work while the public beta is underway and will eventually redirect users to the Trezor Suite web wallet. The public beta is expected to run until January 2021, when a new version of the desktop wallet will be available for download, and Trezor Wallet will no longer be available.
